In the viral video, Mukesh Kumar is heard saying, “Now India cannot attack Pakistan because its relations with China and the US have become such that it is no longer possible. Do you think that after this pact, the condition has become even more consolidated? Has it become even more difficult now?” Sharing the video, a Pakistani user wrote, “India will never dare to attack Pakistan again — a reality every Indian must understand. An Indian security expert says this is because of Pakistan’s defence pacts and diplomatic successes over the past year.”

DFRAC’s investigation found that the claim is false. We found that a partial video of senior journalist Mukesh Kumar has been shared with a misleading claim. In the original video, he is asking a question to defence expert Pravin Sawhney. Speaking to DFRAC, Mukesh Kumar clarified that he was referring to a statement made by Pravin Sawhney during their previous conversation.
We conducted a reverse image search using key frames from the viral video. We found a video published on the Satya Hindi YouTube channel on August 11, 2026. The title of the original video is “Mecca Pact Explained: Pakistan, Turkey & Saudi Deal! A Big Blow to India? Pravin Sawhney”. The video features a discussion between host Professor Mukesh Kumar and defence expert Pravin Sawhney.The discussion focuses on the geopolitical significance of the reported Mecca defence pact between Pakistan, Turkey and Saudi Arabia, as well as its potential implications for West Asia and India’s foreign policy.
At 31:45 in the original video, Mukesh Kumar can be heard referring to their previous conversation while asking Pravin Sawhney a question.However, in the viral video, the beginning of the question has been removed, making it appear as though Mukesh Kumar himself made the statement about India being unable to attack Pakistan.In the original video, Mukesh Kumar asks:“In our previous conversation, you said that India can no longer attack Pakistan because its relations with China and the US have become such that it is no longer possible. Do you think that after this pact, the condition has become even more consolidated? Has it become even more difficult now?”In response to Mukesh Kumar’s question, Pravin Sawhney clarifies:“Look, I don’t think I would have used these words. I would have said that India should not attack. I must have said that, and I am sure about it.”
Speaking to DFRAC, Mukesh Kumar said, “I had asked Pravin Sawhney a question referring to our previous conversation, the video of which is still available on the Satya Hindi YouTube channel.” This statement makes it clear that Mukesh Kumar’s remarks have been taken out of context and shared with a misleading claim.
