Fact Check:
DFRAC’s investigation into the viral video revealed that it does not depict a factory fire in Noida Sector-62. Instead, the video shows a massive fire at a chemical factory in Ambernath, Maharashtra, which occurred on March 9.The team traced the original footage to a video posted on the Ekmat News YouTube channel on March 9, 2026, titled: “Massive fire in Anandnagar MIDC, Ambernath.”(English Translation)
We also found coverage of the incident by ABP Majha and Lokmat. According to ABP Majha, “A massive explosion occurred at a chemical company in Anand Nagar MIDC, Ambernath. Following the blast, a fierce fire broke out, and thick smoke spread across the area. Chemicals from the company spilled onto the road, causing parts of the road to catch fire, with plumes of smoke visible from a distance.”

Furthermore, our team contacted the Noida Sector-62 police outpost for verification. The police denied the viral claims, stating that no such incident had occurred in Sector-62. They clarified that there have been no incidents of a factory catching fire or protesters engaging in arson in the area.
Conclusion:
According to DFRAC’s fact-check, the video being circulated on social media is not from Noida Sector-62. It is from a chemical factory fire in Ambernath, Maharashtra, that took place in March. Therefore, the claims made by users are misleading.
