Recently in Kotdwar, Uttarakhand, some individuals were reportedly pressuring an elderly Muslim man to relocate his shop. At that time, Deepak Kumar, also known as Mohammad Deepak, intervened and confronted them, which sent a positive message against communal hatred across the country.

Meanwhile, a video has been circulating on social media claiming that when Mohammad Deepak went to a mosque for Iftar, Muslims chased him away and did not allow him to enter, saying that non-Muslims are not permitted inside.

Sharing the video, a user named Ramesh Tiwari wrote that the incident exposes the reality of “secularism” and questioned the brotherhood claimed by those who supported Mohammad Deepak, including Rahul Gandhi. Another user, Manoj Srivastava, shared the same video and alleged that it revealed the “truth” about the so-called brotherhood between Rahul Gandhi and Mohammad Deepak, while also criticizing the way Muslims allegedly treated him.

Fact Check:

After investigating the claim, the DFRAC team found that the viral video does not feature Deepak Kumar, also known as Mohammad Deepak. In fact, the video is not from India but from Pakistan and is part of a scripted social experiment. A reverse image search of the video’s keyframes led to a YouTube upload on a channel called Dumb TV dated March 8, 2026.

In the video, at around the 7:26 mark, a man posing as a Hindu, wearing a tilak on his forehead and a garland, reveals that he is actually Muslim and explains that the situation is part of a social experiment conducted by the channel.

The video’s description states that the experiment shows a Hindu man attempting to enter a mosque and being stopped, with the aim of observing how people react. It highlights how some individuals step forward to support unity and mutual respect, emphasizing that humanity and kindness should prevail over religious differences.

DFRAC also contacted Deepak Kumar, also known as Mohammad Deepak, who confirmed that the claim is completely false and that no such incident has ever happened to him.

Conclusion:

DFRAC’s fact check confirms that the claim circulating on social media is false. The viral video neither shows Mohammad Deepak being chased out of a mosque nor is it related to India. Instead, it is a scripted social experiment from Pakistan, making the claims shared by users misleading.
