A video circulating widely on social media purports to show Indian Defense Minister Rajnath Singh openly endorsing Israeli-American military strikes against Iran. In the clip, Singh appears to claim that Prime Minister Modi had visited Israel prior to the conflict and had cautioned Tehran that threatening regional stability would carry serious repercussions. Facebook user Sheikh Sadeque Ali shared the video on March 2, 2026, with a caption alleging that India supports the killing of Muslims.
Fact Check
Upon investigation, we found the video to be fabricated. A keyword-based Google search returned no credible news reports or official government statements corroborating Singh’s alleged remarks about Iran or Israel.
Our team then extracted keyframes from the viral clip and conducted a reverse image search, which traced the footage back to Rajnath Singh’s official YouTube channel. The original video, uploaded on November 23, 2025, shows Singh addressing a Sindhi Samaj Sammelan in Delhi, where he spoke about Sindhi culture and the historical impact of Partition, without mentioning Israel, Iran, or Middle Eastern affairs.
Coverage of this event by The New Indian Express from the same date corroborates this finding.

The viral video also displays visible lip-sync irregularities, a hallmark of AI-manipulated content. Multiple detection tools confirmed this: the Hive Moderation tool flagged the video as 99% AI-generated, while Truth Scan’s audio analysis identified Singh’s voice as cloned.

We also contacted AI expert Mayank Sharma, who concluded that the unnatural lip movements and the absence of genuine vocal inflection are characteristic markers of a deepfake.
Conclusion
Thus, DFRAC concludes that the viral video is entirely fabricated. Rajnath Singh never made any statement supporting attacks on Iran or expressing solidarity with Israel on the matter.
