Does the video feature Indian illegal immigrants on the Polish Border? Here's the Truth
A video showing some individuals trying to come out by cutting through the iron barriers and eventually being shot dead has emerged on the social media platform X(formerly Twitter). Pak-based handles are sharing this video and claiming that the individuals seen in the viral video are Indian illegal immigrants who have been shot dead by Polish border forces.
Posting this video on X, an account named Alpha Intel wrote: “Indian illegal immigrants caught trying to sneak into Poland from Belarus were shot dead by Polish border forces.”

Fact-Check
In the probe, the DFRAC found that the claim shared with the video is manipulated.
We converted this video into keyframes and reverse-searched them using Google Lens for investigation. During this process, we found a similar video posted on the official X handle of Anadolu English with the description: “Footage shows border guards stopping migrants attempting to cross into Poland from Belarus by cutting through a 5.5 meter-high metal fence, released by the authorities. Amid the Russia-Ukraine conflict, the incident occurred in a critical area for controlling illegal immigration. Poland began building the barrier in January 2022 to curb illegal immigration, with features including high metal barriers and advanced surveillance technology.”

Furthermore, we came across some of the latest reports published in Turkish that carried screengrabs from the above-shared video. Moreover, the reports cited similar facts as stated in the post of the Anadolu English X handle.

In addition, we examined these reports deliberately and found that they did not mention “Indian” in their content. According to reports, the video shows a group of irregular immigrants who tried to enter the country illegally by cutting through the iron barriers on the Belarusian border.
Conclusion
It is evident from DFRAC‘s Fact-check that the video has been misrepresented by the Pakistan-based handle. The claim shared with the video seems to be manipulated, as the individuals seen in the viral video are not Indian illegal migrants but some irregular migrants who have tried to enter the country illegally.
