Fact-check

The DFRAC team investigated the above-shared claim by reversing searching it on Google Lens. We found some latest reports from multiple media outlets such as Hindustan Times, NDTV & NEWS 18. As per reports, a viral video shows temple-goers in Mathura Vrindavan, drinking what they believed to be holy water, but it was AC discharge. The comments section is filled with a wide range of reactions, from skepticism and concern to empathy and critique.

Notably, Major Gaurav Arya’s name did not appear in the reports. To verify further, we examined Arya’s social media handles (X handle and Instagram handle), but no tweet or update stating his visit to the temple of Mathura, Vrindavan, was found.

It is evident from DFRAC ‘s fact-check that the above-shared screengrab has been misleadingly associated with Major Gaurav Arya. In reality, Arya did not appear in the video showing devotees drinking AC water in the temple of Mathura, Vrindavan.
