Did militants behead a RAW chief in Kulgam? Here are the facts
Amid the rise in terror activities in Jammu and Kashmir, some pak-based handles posted an image on social media platform X(formerly Twitter) and claimed that Kashmiri freedom fighters had reportedly beheaded a senior RAW station chief in Jammu and Kashmir’s Kulgam.
X account Psywar Bureau, posted an image and wrote: “Kashmỉrỉ frẹẹdom fỉghtẹrs have reportedly bẹhẹạdẹd a senior R&AW station chief in Kulgam, Jammu and Kashmir”
The account is known for disseminating misinformation against India.

Fact-check
The DFRAC team investigated the above viral claim. We conducted a keyword search on Google in this regard and discovered that no reports or updates have been found to support the above claim.
Whereas, a reverse-image search of the image posted with the above claim led us to a tweet by the official X handle of Indian Army Southern Command Pune (@IaSouthern). The tweet from 2021, featured the same image along with other images. It depicted the final ceremonial rituals of the soldier who lost his life in a fierce firefight with terrorists in Pulwama.
Conclusion
DFRAC’s fact-check proves that the claim made by pak-handles is completely fake while the image posted with the claim, dates back to 2021, not a recent one
