Fact-Check
The DFRAC team conducted a keyword search on Google. In our probe, no reports supporting the above viral claim were found. On the contrary, we found a post dated Sept 23, 2024, on PM Modi’s X handle. The Post featured an image of PM Modi with Palestinian president.
Furthermore, the post’s caption read: “Met President Mahmoud Abbas in New York. Reiterated India’s support for early restoration of peace and stability in the region. Exchanged views of further strengthening long-standing friendship with the people of Palestine”
Moreover, Multiple media outlets such as The Economic Times, Hindustan Times & NDTV have published the news in this regard. As per reports, PM Narendra Modi on
Sunday met Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas for the first time since the current Israel-Gaza conflict and expressed deep concern at the humanitarian crisis unfolding in Gaza and the deteriorating security situation in the region and reaffirmed India’s unwavering support to the people of Palestine, including continued humanitarian assistance.
Conclusion
It is evident from DFRAC’s fact-check that the viral claim stating Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas calls Indian PM Modi a ‘Zionist slave’ is completely fake since no reports are available online backing this claim. Instead, PM Narendra Modi met Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas in New York, expressing concern over the Gaza crisis and reaffirming India’s support for Palestine.
