An old video clip of American Singer Mary Millben’s statement on Rahul Gandhi goes viral.

Leader of opposition in the Lok Sabha and Congress leader Rahul Gandhi recently visited the US to discuss unemployment, education, and technology. In its reaction, various videos are going viral on social media platforms. Among them, one such interview video of Mary Millben has gone viral. While sharing the video users claim that “Mary millben, who works in the White House, is surprised how the people of India vote for Rahul Gandhi, who goes abroad and conspires to harm and destroy his own country”.
Fact Check
On investigation, DFRAC found that Mary Millben is an American singer and Actress. We found a similar video on her official Instagram account posted on 4 July 2023 with the caption “A little evening fun for the feed! Who would have thought Mary’s recent performance of the Indian National Anthem for Prime Minister Narendramodi and his official State Arrival Visit to the U.S. would result in marriage proposals!!”
Furthermore, we also found the longer version of this video on the Youtube channel of The New Indian with the title, “Mary Millben Tells Rohan Dua: Rahul Gandhi Bad Mouths Own Country, No One Signs Up For Such Leaders”. We found that the video was premiered on Jun 30, 2023.
Conclusion
It is evident from DFRAC’s fact check that the viral video dates back to 2023 and the lady seen in the video is Mary Millben, an American singer, not a worker in the white House. Therefore, the claim of social media users is misleading.
