While sharing this video, a user named Jitendra Pratap Singh wrote “Look at these clowns from Bangladesh They are protesting against India’s removal of Article 370 from Kashmir. And took out a rally in front of the United Nations office demanding that India re-impose Article 370 and 35A in Kashmir. Who is hypocritical to say that the student movement of Bangladesh was against the quota system? Or was it to remove Sheikh Hasina? These clowns are slowly coming back to their true form”.

Fact Check
DFRAC investigated the viral video by reverse image searching its keyframes. We found the video on pond5.com, where the description states: “In Dhaka on August 6, 2019, protesters affiliated with the Islamic Movement Bangladesh Party are marching against India’s decision to remove the special status of Kashmir. The protesters are carrying banners that read ‘Give Back the Kashmiris’ Fair Rights. Stop Repression on Muslims in Kashmir.’ A leader of the Islamic Movement Bangladesh Party, Maulana Zakaria, says: ‘The Modi government’s conspiracy and decision on Kashmir have hurt the global Muslim community’.”
Furthermore, a photo of this protest was found on alamy.com, which is described as: “Islamic Movement Bangladesh held a protest in Dhaka, Bangladesh, against India’s decision to revoke Kashmir’s special status.”
Conclusion
It is evident from the DFRAC’s fact check that the social media users have made a misleading claim, as this protest is not recent but dates back to a demonstration that occurred in 2019 in Bangladesh.
