Prime Minister Narendra Modi paid an official visit to the Russian Federation on July 8-9, 2024 for the 22nd India – Russia Annual Summit. Surrounding the visit, there have been multiple false claims regarding the India- Russia relations shared by Pak accounted on social media. One of the claims recently shared stated, “During Indian PM Modi’s recent visit to Russia, Russian Prez Vladimir Putin rejected Modi’s request to reintegrate India into the Su-57 project. Putin also declined to make any promises regarding the delivery of spare parts for India’s Su-30MKI aircraft.”
The account named Psy War Bureau (@psywarops), which has shared the viral claim, is a frequent fake news peddler about India, identified by our team.
Fact Check
We investigated the viral claim. Firstly, we checked the media houses from both the countries, India and Russia, and searched for the availability of the viral claim. However, no such statements matching the viral claim about the Su-57 rejection by Russia were found.
Furthermore, we checked the official website of the Ministry of External Home Affairs of India (MEA). There we found the ‘Joint Statement following the 22nd India-Russia Annual Summit’ published. We thoroughly went through the official statement but it did not mention any rejections of the Su-57 deal or rejections for the delivery of spare parts for India’s Su-30MKI aircraft by Russia.
In addition to this, we closely checked the ‘Military and Military-Technical Cooperation‘ section in the Joint statement. There also were no talks about the rejections of the Su-57 deal. This section ” Both Sides agreed to encourage joint manufacturing in India of spare parts, components, aggregates and other products for the maintenance of Russian origin arms and defence equipment under Make-in-India program through transfer of technology and setting up of joint ventures for meeting the needs of the Indian Armed Forces as well as subsequent export to mutually friendly third countries by the Sides’ approval.”

Thus from the fact check it is clear that the viral claim is Fake. No rejections on the Su-57 deal or the Delivery of Spare parts of Su-30 MKI aircraft by Russian President Putin have been reported.
