Fact-Check

The DFRAC team did a reverse search of a few key-frames of the viral video to know the truth. During this, we found the same video of PM Modi uploaded on 27th June 2023 on the YouTube channel of Times Now. In the caption of the post, it is told that PM Modi criticized Samajwadi Party, NCP, RJD and opposition parties by calling ‘Patna Milan’ in Bhopal.

In the video uploaded by Times Now, PM Modi can be heard saying, “If you want the good for the children of your family, then give your vote to BJP.”

Actually, at the beginning of this video, by taking the names of different opposition parties, PM Modi is saying that – “If you want development for the sons and daughters of the Gandhi family, then vote for Congress. If you want to do good to Mulayam Singh ji’s son, then vote for Samajwadi Party….”

The viral video has been edited, i.e., the part at 1:32 minute has been edited and added to the part at 0:07 minute, so that it gives the effect that PM Modi is appealing to vote for Congress.

Conclusion

It is clear from the fact-check by DFRAC that the viral video of PM Modi asking to votes for Congress is edited, as in the original video, PM Modi is saying- “If you want the good for the children of your family, then give your vote to BJP.”
