Fact-Check
Upon reverse-searching the keyframes generated from the viral video, the DFRAC team found a brief press note from the official of Pratapgarh police revealing that the video is related to a dispute between two parties over the breaking of an electric wire due to a tree branch falling on an electric pole in the village of Ramma Purva.
Furthermore, we found another tweet by Pratapgarh Police carrying a video byte given by a police official regarding the above viral video.
Conclusion
It is clear from DFRAC’s Fact-Check that the viral video claiming some Dalits have been severely beaten by BJP workers as they did not vote for BJP has been misleadingly shared on social media platforms. In reality, the video is related to a local dispute. It has nothing to do with the recent Lok Sabha Polls.
