Fact-Check
The DFRAC team conducted a keyword search on Google in the context of the above claim and found some media reports during this process.
Media reports from UNI and Rising Kashmir
A report by UNI (United News of India) dated April 15 stated that Jammu and Kashmir Police have booked eight miscreants under the Public Safety Act (PSA) in Jammu and Kashmir’s Baramulla district.
Police on Monday said that all the eight miscreants, involved in several cases, have been booked under PSA and lodged in Central Jail Kot Bhalwal Jammu and District Jail Udhampur.
In addition, another media report by Rising Kashmir published on April 15, mentioned: “Pertinent to mention that many cases are registered against these persons and they were involved in disturbance of public order, criminal activities and subversion. Despite their involvement in many FIRs. They did not mend their ill activities and thus were strictly acted upon under the Public Safety Act”
Conclusion
It is evident from DFRAC’s Fact-Check that the above claim stating that Indian forces on Monday arrested eight more Kashmiri youth under the Public Safety Act (PSA) has been misleadingly shared on X. The Police Officials have booked miscreants, who are involved in the disturbance of public order, criminal activities, and subversion
