Viral video of Chrystia Freeland is Doctored: Read Fact-Check

An X (formerly Twitter) user @truckdriverpleb shared a video of Canada’s Minister of Finance, Chrystia Freeland along with the caption- “There is something seriously wrong with Chrystia Freeland” while funky music played in the background.

Fact-Check  

Upon conducting a reverse image search by the DFRAC team, on the screenshots of keyframes extracted from the viral video, we found a YouTube video uploaded by CPAC in which the Minister of Finance was discussing the Rental Protection Fund in the upcoming Federal Budget.

The video had Chrystia Freeland in the same suit she was wearing in the alleged tweet surrounded by the same set of people and her face does not resemble the one that was shared in the tweet. Moreover replies in the tweet also called out the fact that this was a blatant use of Snapchat/TikTok filter.

Conclusion

Therefore, the video of Chrystia Freeland has been doctored.
