A video from a school in the Baghpat district of Uttar Pradesh is getting viral on social media. In this video, some female students are seen in a posture of offering Namaz. Along with the students a teacher can also be seen sitting on the chair in front of whom all of this is taking place.
Many right-wing users are sharing the video with agitation and anger.
Fact Check:
To investigate this video DFRAC team did a keyword search and found a tweet from the Bhagpat police. In the tweet the police subsequently responded on Twitter with a statement mentioning that the video was old and it was a part of the full video where the students were rehearsing for a cultural play.
Baghpat police had shared a newspaper cutting in a tweet, however, deleted it later.
Conclusion:
With the clarification of Bhagpat Police, it is clear that the video is old and the students were not reading the namaz but were practicing for a cultural play. Hence, the claim of social media users is Misleading.
