A graphic poster is going viral on social media. The poster has a picture of Imran Khan, former Prime Minister of Pakistan, with text that reads: “Breaking News. Imran Khan dead. PTI can conduct a press conference soon.”
The caption of the post claims that Imran Khan, former Prime Minister of Pakistan, has been assassinated.
Fact Check
To verify the viral claim, DFRAC team searched on Google and found reports published by several media organizations. It was reported that there was a hearing in the Supreme Court of Pakistan regarding the arrest of Imran Khan. The Supreme Court called Imran’s arrest illegal.
The Supreme Court also ordered Imran Khan to appear in court within an hour, after which the police took Imran Khan to court. The court commented that Pakistan would not let Imran go to jail. The court also commented on the investigation agency NAB, saying that the agency had made the country very bad.
Many other media reports have also reported that Imran Khan has been given great relief from the Supreme Court of Pakistan.
Conclusion
DFRAC’s fact check makes it clear that the claim made by social media users is false. Former PM of Pakistan Imran Khan has not been assassinated.
