A video of a plane in Pakistan is going viral on social media. In the video , the plane can be seen landing on the runway which is submerged under water. It was claimed that the viral video is of recent times.
Facebook user, ZK Productions shared the viral video and wrote: Live from Karachi Airport
This video was also shared by the former Pakistan Information Minister and PTI leader Fawad Chaudhry . In his tweet, he criticized the Sindh government, PPP, and its leader Asif Ali Zardari.
Fact Check:
During the DFRAC investigation of the viral video, we found that the Pakistan Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) confirmed that the video is three years old.
In the tweet, it was written that ” An old video is being flushed around on social media that shows an airplane moving on a runway covered in water. Please note that this is an old video, nearly 3-year old, and does not depict the present situation at Karachi’s JIAP, which is normal, with drains working normally..”
Apart from this, we also got a report from Duniya News . In which it was mentioned that this video is of August 27 , 2020 . It was also told that the record of 319.2 mm of rain fell, breaking the record of Karachi 1979 . The airport was flooded as a result.
Conclusion:
Therefore, the viral video is deceptive.
