Apart from this, another Pakistani user, Simran Kashmiri, also shared the same viral video with a similar claim.
Fact Check:
To verify the claims made with the viral video, DFRAC first converted the video into keyframes. These keyframes were then reverse image searched. During this process, we found a similar video posted on Facebook by a user named “Manipur Update” on 13 February 2026.

According to the information shared with that video, violence had broken out in Moawa village under the Medziphema sub-division of Chümoukedima district in Nagaland due to a land dispute between the Angami tribe and the Kuki community. The violence led to damage to property, several houses being set on fire, and vehicles being vandalized. The visuals showed burnt houses and damaged vehicles. However, the full extent of the damage was not clear at that time. Nagaland Police and additional security forces were deployed at the spot to control the situation.

Further investigation led us to a news report uploaded on YouTube by the news channel North East Live on 13 February 2026. This report also included visuals from the viral video. According to the report, clashes erupted between residents of two villages over a land dispute in Moawa village, located on the outskirts of Dimapur in Nagaland. During the incident, several houses were set on fire and multiple vehicles were damaged. The incident took place in the Medziphema sub-division of Chümoukedima district and involved the Chakroma Public Organization and residents of Moawa village.

Additionally, we found a report by the newspaper The Morung Express, which also confirmed the violent clash that occurred in Moawa village on 13 February 2026 due to a land dispute. Nowhere in the report was there any mention of large-scale protests against the Indian Army or demands for independence from India.
Conclusion:
DFRAC’s fact check clearly establishes that the viral video is being shared with a misleading claim. The video does not show any protest in Nagaland against the Indian Army or demonstrations demanding independence from India. In reality, the incident is related to local violence stemming from a land dispute between two communities.
