A video circulated by a Pakistan-based account features the Indian Chief of Defence Staff (CDS), General Anil Chauhan. In this video, he allegedly responds to recent threats issued by Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry, the Director General of Pakistan’s Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).
The account, under the username @InsiderWB on X, posted the video with a caption stating: “Breaking News: Indian Chief of Defense Staff General Anil Chauhan responds to threats by Pakistani DG ISPR.” It also quoted an alleged statement from General Chauhan: “Referring to what the Pakistani DG ISPR said about whether you come from above, below, or sideways, I want to reply that India will always come from the opposite direction, so your assumption is wrong. My face will always be in the opposite direction of the attack.”

Fact-Check
After investigating the original clip of CDS Anil Chauhan, the DFRAC team determined that this video is fake and digitally altered. We found the original video, which was actually a speech commemorating Lieutenant General Srinivas Kumar Sinha, PVSM, ADC (7 January 1926 – 17 November 2016), an Indian Army General who served as Vice Chief of Army Staff. Furthermore, we found no credible news agencies confirming that General Anil Chauhan made any of the alleged statements.
Conclusion
Therefore, the claim that Anil Chauhan responded to recent DG ISPR threats against India is fake and digitally manipulated.
