Fact Check:
The DFRAC team investigated the viral video and found that recently, there has been no incident in Ghaziabad of recovery of bombs or explosives from the house of any Bajrang Dal worker. In fact, this video is from October 2022. We found a report from Dainik Bhaskar about this video, which stated that in Ghaziabad, the district president of the Vishwa Hindu Parishad filed a case against an X (former Twitter) user for spreading fake news.
On further investigation, we found a post from the Police Commissionerate of Ghaziabad, in which information about the recovery of explosive material was given. The police had stated that Loni Police Station had arrested one accused who was illegally manufacturing firecrackers, along with a large quantity of semi-prepared/prepared explosive firecracker material. The police had arrested a person named Rizwan in this case, while the accused named Dilshad, Naushad, Akash, and Gaurav had absconded.
For more information, our team contacted the Loni Police Station. The police told us that recently, there have been no incidents of recovery of a large quantity of bombs, explosives, or weapons. This case is from the year 2022, when material used for making illegal firecrackers was recovered. At that time, a case was registered against the accused and necessary legal action was taken.
Conclusion:
The DFRAC fact check clearly shows that recently there has been no incident in Ghaziabad of recovery of bombs and explosives from the house of any Bajrang Dal worker. Therefore, the users’ claim is misleading.
