The users on the internet claim through this video that she made her remark on ‘safronisation’ of the Indian army and Trishul exercises as a ‘political gimmick’ for the Bihar election.

After investigating the video, the DFRAC team determined this video to be fake and digitally manipulated. Col. Sofia Qureshi grabbed attention when she was chosen to do a press conference during the Operation Sindoor of India. Since then, no media reports have highlighted her assertions or opinions as the claims that emerged from this video. On additional research, we found the original video of Col. Sofia Qureshi when she was addressing the young leaders at the Chanakya Defence dialogue. The message that she delivered here was on a whole different matter from what is claimed, that is, the importance of youth’s participation in India’s national security. The theme for this event was “Veer Yuva: Empowering Youth for India’s National Security,” which is nowhere linked to any political agenda.
