India has recently launched anti-terrorists operation in Kulgam, Jammu and Kashmir. Many claims and narratives have been circulated since then. One such claim is posted by ‘NavCom24’ on X, on 5 August 2025. The account posted pictures of an aircraft taken from different angles, with the claim “Just in, Airspace over Jammu and Kashmir region closed, Indian and Pakistani jets have started patrolling.”

Fact Check

DFRAC in its investigation confirmed that the viral pictures are misleading and the claim is FAKE.  When the viral pictures were searched on google images, we came across an article by ‘Global Times’ published on 8 December 2024. The title is “Pilot inspects exhaust nozzle before taking off”. Both the viral pictures are published in that article. The caption of these pictures says “A J-10 fighter jet attached to an aviation brigade with the air force under Chinese PLA Southern Theater Command takes off for a nighttime flight training exercise. The exercise started at midnight and lasted until dawn”.

We also looked for the viral statement on Google but no similar information was found. No such information is given by any reputed media outlet. Nothing similar is posted on the official social media accounts of the militaries of both the countries as well.

Conclusion

Hence, from all the information gathered we can conclude that the viral pictures are misleading and the claim is FAKE. Those are old pictures of a Chinese aircraft and have nothing to do with India and Pakistan. The viral claim is also not backed by any reliable resource.
