A video is going viral on the internet. A user on Instagram with the username ‘s_sunshine101’ shared a video of an Emirates plane crash-landing. The user shared the video with the caption “Thrilling! Plane Loses Control While Landing, Finally Parks Safely”.
The video was shared on Youtube as well by a channel named ‘Aloys-Phere’ with a similar caption.
Fact Check
The team at DFRAC searched for the viral video on the internet and established that it is FAKE. Key frames of the video were searched using google images and there was no such video shared by any credible media house. We also carried out a search on google to find out whether any Emirates plane crash landed recently but found nothing. The official aviation authorities of UAE also did not make such an announcement.
Upon closely monitoring the video, we noticed some unusual things. The spelling of Emirates in the viral video is incorrect. The design at the tail also does not match the design present on the images provided on the official website of Emirates. At last the key frames of the video were searched on an AI detecting website ‘wasit AI’ and it was confirmed that the video is AI-generated.
Conclusion
Hence, we can conclude that the video is FAKE. As there is no official information about any Emirates plane crash-landing recently. The AI detector website also cites the video as AI-generated.
