A ceasefire was announced between India and Pakistan on 10 May 2025. Since then, the war might have subsided but tensions are still prevalent between the two nations. Meanwhile an account on X, with the username ‘TheDailyCPEC’ posted a claim. The claim is “BREAKING: It is officially confirmed that Pakistan destroyed S-400 radars so India can be blind during the war”.
Another account named ‘PakUrdu_’ posted the same statement.
Fact Check
After the claim got widely spread, DFRAC members researched it. In our research we found the claim to be FAKE.
When the keywords from the viral claim were searched on Google, an article by ‘The Hindu’ popped up. It was published on 10 May 2025. The title says “Pakistan’s claims of destroying India’s S-400 missile systems false: Indian Military”. Reading further it says “Pakistan’s claim that its hypersonic missiles fired from JF-17 fighter jets destroyed India’s S-400 air defence system in Adampur is “false”, an Indian military official said on Saturday (May 10, 2025)”.
We looked for more recent articles concerning the viral claim, but nothing was found. No media report or article or government announcement is there to confirm the legitimacy of the viral claim. The military personnels of any of the nations have also not given any such statements.
Conclusion
Hence, due to the lack of credible evidence the viral claim stands FAKE. The article of ‘The Hindu’ also debunks the statement posted by Pakistan based accounts.
