A video is going viral on various social media platforms. The video showcasing missiles being bombarded at some place at night. A user on Instagram with the username ‘thethaarr’ posted the video on 7 May 2025. The user claimed that the video is of India’s Operation Sindoor launched against Pakistan.
Many other users on Instagram posted the video with a similar claim, which you can view here and here.
In June 2025, a youtube channel named ‘Current Talks’ also posted this video on youtube with a similar claim. The channel posted the video with the caption “Operation Sindoor | 70+ Terror death Pakistan war Terror death #video”.
Other channels on Youtube also shared the video such as ‘Agriculture Field Expert’, ‘Challenged Humans’ and ‘Shortflix’.
Fact Check
After the video went viral on the internet, DFRAC started investigating it. In the investigation, we found that the video is MISLEADING. We first did the reserve image search on Google with the snippets of the video. We found no similar footage in any media report or coverage of Operation Sindoor.
But we found similar footage that a YouTube channel named ‘DD India’ posted. The channel posted the video with the caption “Iranian missiles targeting the Nevatim airbase in the Negev Desert,” suggesting that the video is from an attack Iran launched against Israel. The channel posted the video on 2 October 2024.
To confirm the claim we further checked for any post with similar news and found another post on YouTube by the channel named ‘TRTWORLD’. This channel posted a video with a similar claim on 1 October 2024.
Conclusion
The viral video on the internet that claims to be of Operation Sindoor of India is MISLEADING. Rather the video is from an attack by Iran on Israel on 1 October 2024.
