A video showing an anti-India protest is being widely shared on social media. In the video, people can be seen holding the Pakistani flag and insulting the Indian national flag (Tiranga) and Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The text on the video reads: “This is not Pakistan. Yes, this is your Tamil Nadu.”
One user shared the video with the caption:
“This is not Pakistan. Yes, this is your Tamil Nadu. Mohammad Abdul Azeem, who works at TVS Two Wheeler Company, recently uploaded a video on his Instagram where the Indian flag is being trampled underfoot. Should such people be granted Indian citizenship? Share your thoughts in the comments! He later uploaded another video apologizing, but he should not be forgiven because this concerns the pride and honour of our national flag. Share this as much as possible and demand action against him.”

Another user wrote:
“The video is not from Pakistan, it is from Tamil Nadu. What do you think after watching this video? Share your views in the comments and spread this video so this traitor can be punished. Jai Hind!”

Fact Check
The DFRAC team investigated the viral video. We did a reverse image search of the key frames of the video. We found several pictures related to this demonstration, with which it is informed that this demonstration took place in Hyderabad, Pakistan. A user named Rudra Nandu shared the picture of the demonstration and informed that a demonstration was held against India and Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Hyderabad, Pakistan.

Similarly, on reddit.com, a link to an article from New York Times was shared claiming that it was about a protest that took place in Hyderabad, Pakistan on May 7.

Our team searched Google for keywords regarding anti-India protests in Tamil Nadu. However we did not find any reports published by any media organization.
Conclusion
DFRAC’s fact check clearly shows that the claim made on social media is misleading. The viral video of the anti-India protest is not of the protest that took place in Tamil Nadu, India. This video is of the protest that took place in Hyderabad, Pakistan.
