Claim

A screenshot of a news report by a news website DNA is shared on social media. The headline of this news report reads, “Gujarat Board results: Zero students passed Class 10 in 157 schools.” It is shared by former Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal and one-time Uttar Pradesh CM Akhilesh Yadav.

While, sharing this screenshot of a news report, former Delhi Chief Minister and Aam Aadmi Party national convenor Arvind Kejriwal wrote: “This is the Gujarat model. This is the BJP model that they want to implement across the entire country. This is the double-engine model. They want to keep the whole country uneducated. Just name one state where they are in power and haven’t ruined the education system. Under this very model, they are now trying to destroy the education system in Delhi as well.”

In fact, the original tweet was made by former Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav. Meanwhile, Kejriwal had merely quoted the tweet posted by Yadav. While, sharing the screenshot of news report, Former Uttar Pradesh CM wrote, “The Gujarat model has completely failed… In Gujarat, not a single student passed the Class 10 board exams in 157 schools. Remove BJP, save the future!”

To investigate the claim, the DFRAC did a keyword search for the news report. This search led to a news report by DNA. This news report is nearly two years old. It was published on May 25, 2023.
