A post is going viral on social media. It shows an image where three women spectators can be seen jubilantly cheering for their team.
So, a user has shared this image with caption saying: “This lady from Pakistan is giving kisses without hijab. And here in India, when asked to remove hijab in the exam, so these girls would not appear for the exam.”
Fact Check
To check the claim made about the photo, DFRAC did a reverse image search of the photo. This led us to many related posts with the same image and news report, too, appeared in the search results.
A news report by ABP, dated 23 February 2025, stated that the said woman in the image is Jasmin Walia. This image is from a cricket match between India and Pakistan in the ongoing ICC Champions Trophy 2025.
The news report revealed that she is a British Singer of Indian descent.
Jasmin Walia was born in Essex, England, to parents of Indian descent in the year 1995.
Conclusion
The fact check by DFRAC shows that the claim made on a viral post is misleading.
The said woman in the image is Jasmin Walia, an Indian-origin British Singer.
