Has one soldier been killed by Kashmiri militants in Udhampur? Here's the Truth
A pak-based handle took to social media platform X(formerly Twitter) and claimed that one Indian soldier was killed & three injured during a Kashmiri militant attack in J & K’s Udhampur.
An account named Tactical Tribune posted an image on X and wrote: “1 Indian soldier killed, 3 injured during a Kashmiri Fighters attack in Udhampur”

Fact-check
In the probe, DFRAC team found the claim to be misleading.
We did a keyword search on Google about this and found that no reports have been published supporting the above claim.
Contrary to this claim, we came across some latest reports by the Deccan Herald, State Times, and Kashmir Reader. As per reports, a CRPF jawan allegedly died by suicide by shooting himself dead with his service rifle in Jammu and Kashmir’s Udhampur district.

Furthermore, the reports stated that the jawan was part of a road opening party deployed in the Tikri area along the Jammu-Srinagar national highway when he shot himself dead. He was identified as Praveen Patil, a resident of Maharashtra.
Police have started inquest proceedings in this connection.
Conclusion
It is clear from DFRAC’s fact-check that the above claim of Kashmiri militant attacking a soldier, shared by the Pak-based handle is misleading since there are no reports available online in this regard. Instead of this, reports cite that a CRPF jawan has committed suicide by shooting himself.
