We investigated the viral claim. During the process, we checked for the official statement of Navsari police, Gujarat on X handle and found their statement. It stated,” A public appeal is made to the public of Navsari district from the district police that on 07/12/2024 a video of Dargah Road area of Navsari city has gone viral on social media, according to which a proper FIR has been registered by the police. Rumors are viral, don’t take viral video messages seriously. Peace is prevailing in the district now so don’t take any rumors and any false videos viral. or forwarded, legal action will be taken against them. After registering a proper FIR in this matter, the accused has been arrested and necessary legal action has been taken by the police.”
A media report by ETV Bharat Gujarat also mentioned that the incident was an altercation between the parties regarding parking at Dargah Road in Navsari. After the incident, the matter became heated and a crowd of people gathered at the spot for the second consecutive day, as a result of which the police reached the spot to prevent any untoward incident. The police have taken action against social media and instigators who are trying to disturb the atmosphere of the city. Range IG Premveer Singh has appealed to maintain peace in Navsari city and not to pay attention to unfounded social media posts.
