On social media, a news of NATO has gone viral. While sharing the news users claim that “Turkey is leaving NATO. Turkish political and government officials are signing the legal draft of Turkey’s withdrawal from NATO.”

Fact Check

During the investigation, DFRAC found that the claim was fake. We did not found any such official news in mainstream media reporting such facts. Furthermore, we examined the handles of Turkey Ministry of the Interior ‘Ali Yerlikaya’ but no such tweet or update had been found in this regard.

Moreover, Turkey has been a member of NATO since 1952, has its second largest army and is the host of the Allied Land Command headquarters. The Incirlik and Konya Airbases have both been involved in several NATO military operations since their establishment.
