On social media, a video of machine and ballot paper has gone viral. While sharing the video users claim that “BREAKING: FIVE Trump-leaning counties in Pennsylvania are experiencing Maricopa County, WIDESPREAD MACHINE FAILURES, This time ES&S and MicroVote partnering up with Dominion Rigging Systems.”
Fact Check
During the investigation DFRAC found that the claim was false. On closely inspecting the video, we found the date and timing at the right bottom corner which was 10 Oct, 2022 and 14:35.
Furthermore, In May 2023, the same video was shared in social media posts that said “BREAKING New video evidence of Maricopa election officials illegally breaking into sealed election machines after they were tested, reprogramming memory cards, and reinstalling them 59% of these machines would shut down on election day in GOP areas They’ve been CAUGHT.”
Moreover, a screenshot from the video has been found in the a report from ‘thegatewaypundit’ dated 7 Oct, 2024 with the caption: “Election workers in Maricopa County reprogram machine memory cards before the 2022 election.”
Conclusion
It is evident from the DFRAC’s fact check that the viral video is from 2022 Maricopa County election. Therefore, the claim of social media users is misleading.
