Jammu and Kashmir have been witnessing a surge in terror activities in the past couple of weeks leading to the rise in misinformation and fake news on the digital landscape.
Recently Some pak-handles took to social media platform X (formerly Twitter) and shared a claim that Indian soldiers had been killed in J & K’s Akhnoor and stated different numbers.
Accounts such as Conflict Watch, OSINT India, and Schlangenjäger posted a video on X and claimed that Five Indian Soldiers Killed or Injured in Ambush on Army Vehicles in Akhnoor
Whereas, Psywar bureau, and Defense Intelligence also shared this news mentioning different numbers.
Fact-check
In the probe, the DFRAC team found that 3 terrorists had been killed by Indian army during an intense gunfight in Jammu & Kashmir’s Akhnoor.
We conducted a keyword search on Google and found a tweet a tweet on the handle of White Knight Corps (@Whiteknight_IA) stating: ” All Three Hardcore Terrorists Eliminated Post Intense Firefight
After round-the-clock surveillance throughout the night, an intense firefight unfolded this morning, resulting in a significant victory for our forces”.
Apart from this, in another tweet, the handle informed they lost an Indian Army Dog in the intense gunfight.
In addition, we discovered the latest reports from NDTV, ANI & The Times of India citing that security forces gunned down 3 terrorists responsible for attacking an Army vehicle in J & K’s Akhnoor sector.
The encounter began on Monday, Oct 30 when the terrorists fired at an ambulance that was part of an Army convoy near the LoC. By evening, one attacker was neutralized, while two others were eliminated on Tuesday Oct 29 during a final assault near the Assan temple in Jogwan village.
Notably, no Indian soldier have been killed, while security forces lost an Indian Army Dog in this gunfight.
