On social media, a video of a concert has gone viral. While sharing the video users claim that “A great music festival was organized in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia in which the young men and women of Saudi Arabia enjoyed the music and also gave their own performances. Here in India, Abdul is getting a puncture check and is worried that music is forbidden in Islam.” (Translated in English)

Fact Check
During the investigation, DFRAC found that the claim was false. We found a similar video on the official YouTube channel of ‘Abdul Majeed Abdullah’ uploaded on 27 May, 2024 titled “Abdul Majeed abdullah Hala Besh Kuwait 2024”
Furthermore, we also found a video on YouTube uploaded on 31 May, 2024 with the caption “Abdul Majeed Abdullah’s stellar performance of ‘Hala Besh’ in The Arena Kuwait 2024.”
Conclusion
It is evident from the DFRAC’s fact check that the viral video dates back to May and is from a Kuwait concert, not from Saudi Arabia. Therefore, the claim of social media users is misleading.
