Digitally edited thumbnail of Vinesh Phogat’s video goes viral. Here’s the Truth

On social media, the thumbnail featuring Indian wrestler Vinesh Phogat along with the text: “they wanted to record me Modi’s call had come, if Nita Ambani wanted…Vinesh told these things for the first time on camera”  has gone viral. While sharing the thumbnail users wrote “Oh my god! This is the thumbnail on the YouTube channel of @INCIndia How does the Gandhi family want to use #VineshPhogat”. (English Translation)

Fact Check

During the investigation, DFRAC found that the thumbnail was digitally edited. We found a video on the official YouTube channel of ‘Indian National Congress’ published on 2 Oct, 2024 the original thumbnail read as “Modi’s call, Brijbhushan’s dummy… Tampering with goods… What I feared happened!” (English Translation).

Conclusion

It is evident from the DFRAC’s fact check that the thumbnail of the video, has been digitally edited. Therefore, the claim of social media users misleading.
