To verify the authenticity of the emerging claim, the DFRAC team conducted a keyword search on google in this regard and that this claim is fake. No official announcement has been made by India regarding the supply of arms to Ukrainea & No such deal has been done in the meeting between PM Modi and Zelensky.
Acc. to a press release of MEA, PM Modi held a bilateral meeting with the President of Ukraine, H.E. Mr. Volodymyr Zelenskyy, on 23 Sept 2024, on the sidelines of the Summit of the Future in New York..
The two leaders recalled the PM’s recent visit to Ukraine & expressed satisfaction at the continued consolidation of bilateral ties. The situation in Ukraine as well as the way forward on pursuing a path to peace also figured prominently in their discussions.
The PM reiterated India’s clear, consistent, and constructive approach in favor of a peaceful resolution of the conflict through diplomacy and dialogue as well as engagement between all stakeholders. He conveyed that India remains open to providing all support to facilitate a lasting and peaceful resolution of the conflict.

Besides this, a fake news was disseminated regarding the supply of Indian weapons to Ukraine which was refuted by Randhir Jaiswal. As per Dainik Jagran’s report, India termed the news in the media as false which claimed that cannons and shells sold by Indian arms manufacturers have been sent to Ukraine by European customers. India did not intervene to stop this.
