 An image showing damaged roads has recently surfaced on social media platform X(formerly Twitter). Users are sharing this image and extending thanks to Gadkari satirically.

While sharing this image on X, a user named Dr Aniruddha Malpani, MD wrote:”Our roads are deliberately designed to keep drivers alert ! Thank you #Gadkari”

Fact-check

To check the veracity of the above-shared image, the DFRAC team reverse-searched it on Google and found that the image had been available online since July 2012 on the Facebook page named Alfa College of Engineering & Technology, Allagadda.

Furthermore, we found this image featured in a blog named Cute pictures with the title: “indian road in rainy-season and funny accident”. The image was posted on Sept 24, 2012

Conclusion

It is evident from DFRAC fact-check that the recently surfaced image has been misleadingly shared on X. The image has been available online since 2012 indeed.
