Pak users on social media are claiming that the killing of LeT Commander, Riyaz Ahmad Dar in Pulwama, Kashmir is an ‘Extra Judicial Killing’. Many users were found sharing the above the claim.

On investigation, we found the claim is False. According to media reports, Top Lashkar-e-Taiba terrorists, including commander Riyaz Ahmad Dar, were killed in an anti-terror operation in Nihama, Pulwama on June 4, 2024 Police sources said Riyaz Ahmad Dar, was a LeT commander who was active for the past 8 years and was wanted in numerous terror-related cases, said IGP (Kashmir Range) V Birdi, calling the anti-terror operation a breakthrough for security forces.
Also, according to a media report dated March 20, 2023, the Special Investigation Agency (SIA) of the J&K Police raided the house of a LeT commander Abdul Aziz Dar in Pulwama district whose son, Riyaz Ahmad Dar is believed to be the oldest surviving militant commander active for the last 8 years in the valley.

Thus from the fact check it is clear that the viral claim of Extra Judicial killing of LeT commander Riyaz Ahmad Dar is False. He was an active member of LeT for the past 8 years and was wanted in numerous terror-related cases and the encounter was part of an anti-terror cordon and search operation.
