A claim has recently surfaced on social media platform X (formerly Twitter) stating that Indian spy agency RAW’s station chief has been arrested by Bangladeshi army from Dhaka. The claim has been shared by many Pak-based handles including a Pak film director Mubasher Lucman.
Pakistani film director and News Anchor Mubasher Lucman, who currently hosts program ‘Khara Sach’ took to X and wrote: “Indian spy agency RAW’s station chief has been arrested by Bangladeshi army from Dhaka”
Besides that, Pak-based Handle Ironclad shared an image on X and claimed: “#BREAKING: Indian spy agency RAW’s station chief has been arrested by Bangladeshi army from Dhaka”
Additionally, many users shared this image and made similar claims. The link can be seen here and here.
Fact-Check
DFRAC team conducted a keyword search and found that no such news article has been found supporting the above claim. Moreover, a reverse-image search of the shared image led us to websites such as Alamy and Shutterstock where we found that the image was initially shared in December 2018.
The news shared with the above image on Alamy and Shutterstock stated that “Army personnel are checking vehicles at key points of the Dhaka to maintain law and order situation ahead of the December 30 general election, Dhaka, Bangladesh”
Conclusion
DFRAC’s Fact-Check proves that the claim shared by Pak handles including Pak film director Mubasher Lucman is completley fake since there are no reports available online in this regard.
