Fact Check

On investigation, DFRAC found a tweet from the official X account of Siddharthnagar police stating “At the time when this incident happened, three, four children of 8-10 years of age were playing there. Those children said that this statue was broken by a Temple’s priest. Believing the children’s words, we asked the Temple’s priest and he said that he had a constant fight with the family of these two boys Mannan and Sonu, so I broke the statue to trap them”.

Conclusion

It is evident from the DFRAC’s fact check that the statue was broken by a temple’s priest, not by Muslim boys. Therefore, the claim of social media users is misleading.
