DFRAC Team investigated the viral claim. On investigation, we landed on Manipur Police official twitter handle. There we found the official clarification on the video. Manipur police stated that the men the video are Manipur Police personnels taking refuge in BP vehicle and firing back at militants who ambushed SFs on 14/7/2024 in Jiribam District.

Thus, the viral claim of attacks in Kuki areas by Meitei, disguised in police uniforms and stealing weapons is false. The Manipur police confirmed that the men in the video were Manipur Police personnel.
