Fact Check
The DFRAC Team investigated the viral the claim. On investigation we found it’s a False claim made by Pak Social media handles. We checked the official website of the BRICS along with media reports. It has no where being mentioned that India will be expelled From BRICS if Pakistan Joins.
BRICS is an organization of equal partners. It operates on principles of consensus and cooperation, and any significant decision, such as expelling a member, would require the agreement of all member states. Furthermore, India is one of the five founding members of the BRICS.
What’s the news?
According to India Today’s report, Pakistan has formally applied for membership in the BRICS. Islamabad has filed the application to join the body. It has sought Russia’s support, quoting Pakistan’s envoy to Russia, Muhammad Khalid Jamali, the agency reported. Conclusion
Henceforth, China cannot unilaterally expel India. Any such move would require the consensus of all BRICS members, which is highly improbable given the organization’s principles and the mutual interests at stake.
Thus, the claim is false and Baseless.
