After the G7 summit, a Pak-based handle shared a news on social media platform X(Twitter), alleging that India is going to provide Air Defense System and Tanks to Ukraine in fight against Russia.
Taking to X, an account namely PSYWAR Bureau wrote: “#BREAKING NEWS
India to provide Air Defense System and Tanks To Ukraine in fight Against Russia
lndia’s PM Modi and Ukrainian President Kerensky met on the sideIines of the 50th G-20 summit in ltaIy.”
The account had shared a plethora of fake news in the past.

To verify the authenticity of this news, the DFRAC team did a keyword search on Google and found a latest tweet on the official X handle of PM Narendra Modi mentioning that he had productive meeting with Ukrainian President Zelensky. India eager to cement bilateral relations with Ukraine & believes the way to peace is through dialogue & diplomacy.
Whereas, the latest tweet by Ukrainian President Zelensky stated that stated that he met PM Modi during G7 summit, discussed development of bilateral relations & expansion of trade in context of Black sea export corridor. They also talked about preparation of Global Peace Summit & the items on the Summit’s agenda.
Media outlets such as NDTV, Hindustan Times and Times Of India also reported this news.
According to the recently published report by TOI, PM Narendra Modi held a bilateral meeting with Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelensky on the margins of the G7 summit, reiterating support for peaceful resolution of the Russia-Ukraine conflict through dialogue and diplomacy.
While, Hindustan Times’s report dated June 14, 2024 cited that Zelensky, who is a special invitee to the G7 Summit, said he and Modi discussed the development of bilateral relations and ways to expand trade.
In addition, the latest report from NDTV stated similar facts in this regard.
