Users sharing this news are targeting the Yogi government in Uttar Pradesh claiming to reveal the “truth” about the situation in the state. One user called it the “current situation” in UP, while another user mocked the yogi government’s claim that criminals have left the state.

The DFRAC’s team closely examined the the viral news clipping and we found that the date mentioned in the news is “Sunday, May 24, 2020”. This clearly indicates that the news clipping shared by users is not recent. The news report states that the dispute took place in Govindpur village of Pratapgarh district.
After this, our team searched some keywords related to the incident that took place in Govindpur village of Pratapgarh on Google and we found several media coverages of this incident from May-June 2020. According to a report in the Hindustan newspaper, “A clash and ruckus took place on May 22 after a panchayat meeting following a dispute over cattle trespassing in the fields between Ram Asre Tiwari, a resident of Dhuni under Patti police station area, and Nanhe Verma, a resident of Govindpur in Asapur Devsara area on the evening of May 21. Five policemen were also injured in the attack by villagers.” Meanwhile, according to a report by ETV Bharat, after this dispute, Union Minister Anupriya Patel visited the village and met the victims, assuring them of justice. Other media reports also mentioned clashes between the villagers.
