A video of film actor Ranveer Singh is viral on social media. Users sharing this video claim that Ranveer Singh has criticized Prime Minister Narendra Modi on the issue of unemployment and inflation. In this video, Ranveer Singh can be heard saying, “This is the purpose of Modi ji, his purpose was to celebrate our miserable life and fear, our unemployment and our inflation. Because India is now moving towards the era of injustice at such a speed. But we must never forget to demand our development and our justice. So think and vote.” While sharing this video, a user named Dinesh Chauhan wrote – “Those who care about the country will vote for Congress. After all, RanbirSingh’s eyes were also opened because #HaathBadlegaHalaat.

DFRAC team reverse-searched the viral video. We found this video uploaded on the @X handle of news agency @ANI. Recently film actor Ranveer Singh, actress Kriti Sanon, and fashion designer Manish Malhotra visited Varanasi. During this time, the film stars visited Kashi Vishwanath Temple and also visited Ganga Ghat. ANI had talked to these three film stars about their visit. During this, Ranveer Singh talked about the development and culture of Varanasi. In the byte given to ANI, it can be seen that Ranveer Singh has not criticized PM Modi on inflation and unemployment. In the original video, Ranveer Singh expressed his views on the development, culture, and civilization of Kashi.
Conclusion:
It is clear from the fact check of DFRAC that Ranveer Singh’s video has been edited and it is a deepfake video. Ranveer has not criticized PM Modi. In his statement, he was talking about the development and culture of Varanasi. Therefore the claim of the users is fake.
