Amid the ongoing tensions in Northern India due to Farmers Protest, an image is widely circulated. The image shows a bullet stuck in a metal utensil. While sharing the image, internet users are linking it to the recent Farmers Protest with the caption, “ Everything will be recorded in history Mr. Modi.”
Fact Check
We investigated the viral image by a reverse image search. After searching, it was determined that the image originated from Bangladesh.
We found a report from the Bangladeshi news media portal 24onbd dated February 16, 2024, featuring an identical image. It mentioned intense firing occurred on the border between Shahpori Dwip (island) and St. Martin in Teknaf. The firing originated from the Myanmar side, causing panic among the local populace. Tragically, three individuals lost their lives. Consequently, the border situation prompted the closure of sea routes for both tourist and local ships.
Another report by The Dhaka Mail mentioned,” the Bangladesh government protested by calling the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Dhaka. The general secretary of the ruling party, Obaidul Quader, also said that the United Nations should be approached to resolve this situation.
Conclusion
Thus the image is from the Bangladesh-Myanmar border clashes and is unrelated to Farmers Protest.
