On February 13th, 2023, @DrLoupis released a video on X (formerly known as Twitter), showing Volodymyr Zelenskyy, the President of Ukraine, belly dancing at a home party. The user shared the video with the caption, “ Zero dollars is the amount this scammer should have received”.
Prior to becoming President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyy had a career as an entertainer. He appeared in a number of films and dance performances, most notably as a contestant on the Ukrainian version of the TV show Dancing With The Stars.
Fact Check
Upon conducting a reverse image search by the DFRAC team, on the screenshots extracted from the viral video, we discovered a TikTok video posted on October 16, 2020. The imagery in this TikTok clip closely resembles that of the viral video, with one notable difference: the individual featured in the TikTok footage is different from the person showcased in the viral post.
However, the truth diverges significantly from the initial impression: the face of the Ukrainian leader had been digitally imposed onto the body of Argentine dancer Pablo Acosta.
Upon comparing the viral video with the original, it becomes apparent that the people in the background, the furniture, and even the attire worn by the dancing individual are identical in both videos. This compelling evidence strongly suggests that the viral video was generated using Deep Fake Technology.
Conclusion:
Therefore, the individual depicted in the viral post dancing is not Zelenskyy.
