A post is making rounds on social media platforms showing a dairy product by Amul, the prestigious dairy brand in India. The product can be identified as cheese by Amul with the name ‘Sharam’ . Users on social media are fiercely sharing this post and claiming that Amul has launched a new dairy product with the name ‘Sharam’.
Posting an image on X(Twitter), A user by the name of Anand Abhirup wrote: “Sharam naam ki Cheese bhi Hoti hai @Amul_Coop new product”

Furthermore, we found that the post was shared by several users on social media platforms with similar claims.
Fact-Check
A reverse image search of the viral post led us to a tweet with a notice, on the official X(Twitter) handle of Amul where they stated that the pack shown in the post has been developed using AI. Further, it was mentioned in the notice: “We wish to assure you that the pack shown in this post is not Amul Cheese”.
Not only this, but Amul also informed that this post has been used to create misinformation and spread unnecessary fear and concern among consumers and requested to share this message with your family and friends and assure them about the goodness of Amul Cheese.
Moreover, we also discovered news articles published by news websites Livemint and Times now reporting this issue.
Conclusion
It is clear from DFRAC’s Fact-Check that the viral post claiming a new dairy product by Amul with the name Sharam is completely fake. Indeed, Amul has not launched any such dairy product.
