A video is going viral on social media. By sharing this video it is being claimed that Pakistan flags were waved in the Congress rally in Rajasthan. A person’s voice is also heard in this video, which tells that this video is from Deori.
This video has been shared by many users. While sharing the video, Vivek Pandey wrote – “Look at Congress campaigning with Pakistani flags in Rajasthan. This is the true character and face of the Congress Party family.”
Fact Check
To fact check the viral video, the DFRAC team watched the video carefully. We found that the flag seen in the video is not the flag of Pakistan. In the collage below you can see the flag of Pakistan and the flag seen in the viral video.
Here we are clarifying some differences between the two flags-
The flag of Pakistan has a white stripe on the left side, while the Viral flag has a white stripe on both the right and left sides.
The flag of Pakistan has a moon and a star in the middle, whereas the viral flag does not have a moon and a star in the middle.
The viral flag has white stripes on both sides and green color in the middle.
Our investigation revealed that this video had gone viral before also. This video has been viral with the claim that Pakistan flag was hoisted on the victory of Congress in Rajasthan in the year 2018.
Conclusion:
It is clear from the fact check of DFRAC that the flag going viral is not of Pakistan. Even before this, this video had gone viral with the claim of hoisting the flag of Pakistan after the victory of Congress in the year 2018. Therefore the claims of social media users are misleading.
